The playful instant film FUJIFILM INSTAX offers a colour balance and tonal range that is superior to Polaroid films, resulting in detailed and precise photos. The instant film FUJIFILM FP-100C was chosen for its ability to accurately reproduce colours and its rich tonal gradations, which is ideal for any situation involving bright light. The reversal film AGFA PRECISA CT 100 was picked for its iconic neutral effect and deep blues, which makes it the perfect choice for landscape photography.
Nik Collection 2.5 by DxO has added five new film types simulating colour films that have left their mark on the history of analogue photography: AGFA PRECISA CT 100 FUJIFILM FP-100C, INSTAX, and FUJICHROME PROVIA 400X and LOMOGRAPHY REDSCALE 100.Įach film has been carefully selected for its chromatic intensity and fine grain. Plus, thanks to the plugin’s built-in U POINT™ technology, applying a filter to a specific area has never been simpler! Agfa, Fuji, And Lomography: Three Iconic Brands

Color Efex Pro 4: Unlimited Creativity With ColourĬolor Efex Pro 4 is the creative colour plugin in Nik Collection 2 by DxO. After adding ten new iconic black-and-white films to Silver Efex Pro 2, DxO has added five new types of classic colour films to Color Efex Pro 4 and re-designed Nik Collection to be compatible with the latest version of Affinity Photo. However, I'll wait to see whether people find that it is useful after these and the other bugs have been worked out.DxO, one of the most innovative companies in the photography and image editing industry, is continuing to improve upon Nik Collection 2, the famous plugin suite for Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, and Elements. Version 4 offers more control over the definition of control points, which at least in principle sounds useful. But apart from that, my use of version 3 has been identical to my use of version 2. There have been some editing updates also I bought the last version for Perspective Efex, which I didn't have because I don't have other DxO software. My impression is that many of the additional features in Nik updates have been presets, none of which I have used.
I certainly am apart from some film emulation presents in Silver Efex, I don't think I've every used a Nik preset in a finished image. I suspect many people on this forum are more in market #2 than in market #1. To oversimplify, market #1 is people who want presets or effects, and market #2 is people who want editing tools.
DXO NIK COLLECTION REVIEW SOFTWARE
My impression is that the software is trying to serve two very different markets and that this is pulling them in two very different directions. I just searched (very briefly) for a history of Nik collection upgrades.

DXO NIK COLLECTION REVIEW UPGRADE
I am wondering if it would be worthwhile for me to upgrade to the NIK4 Collection. I cannot determine the number of my present NIK collection but, I have always kept the program updated. If there is an upgrade price for present NIK users. What new capabilities NIK4 will offer me (if any).Ģ. I use portions of it along with ACR and Photoshop for virtually all my workflow. I have been using NIK for years and really like it. I just received an Email announcement of a NIK4 collection.
